Naturalization Application Services

Foreign nationals who wish to acquire Japanese nationality and live as Japanese citizens must obtain approval for naturalization.

Once naturalization is approved, the applicant acquires Japanese nationality and may live and work as a Japanese citizen. However, applications are subject to detailed requirements concerning factors such as the applicant’s period of residence in Japan, conduct, financial circumstances, and Japanese-language ability.

Our office carefully reviews each client’s circumstances and proposes the most appropriate application strategy, taking into account the prospects of approval.

In the unlikely event that your naturalization application is denied, we will assist you with a reapplication at no additional professional fee.

If we determine that there is no reasonable prospect of approval even after reapplication, we will refund the professional fees you have paid, excluding actual expenses, in accordance with our refund policy.

Full Support Plan

This plan allows you to leave as much of the process as possible to our office, from collecting the required documents through submitting the application.

※ The professional fees shown in this table do not include actual expenses such as transportation costs, communication expenses, fees for obtaining official documents, or translation fees.

Standard Plan

Our most popular plan. You prepare the required documents, and our office handles the preparation of the application documents, submission to the Legal Affairs Bureau, and post-application support.

Light Plan

Recommended for clients who wish to keep costs as low as possible. Under this plan, our office reviews your application documents, and you submit the application yourself.

Service Flow

• Inquiry

  First, please contact us by telephone or through our inquiry form to schedule a free consultation.

• Free Consultation

  We will provide a free consultation at our office or online using Zoom. During the consultation, we will ask about your circumstances and explain the matters that need to be confirmed, any potential concerns regarding the application, the scope of our services, and our fees.

• Application

  Your engagement will be considered正式 once we have received the signed application form and an initial payment equal to 50% of the professional fee. The Light Plan must be paid in full in advance.

• Guidance on Required Documents

  Based on the information you provide, we will prepare a list of the documents you need to obtain.

• Collection of Required Documents

  Once you have collected the listed documents, please send them to our office.

• Preparation of Application Documents

  We will prepare the application documents based on the information and supporting documents you provide.

• Review of the Complete Application Package

  We will review the complete application package for missing documents or information, incorrect entries, and other issues.

• Signature and Seal

  After reviewing the contents, you will be asked to sign the application documents.

• Submission of the Application

  We will submit the application to the Legal Affairs Bureau with jurisdiction over your case. Once the application has been submitted, you will be required to pay the remaining 50% of the professional fee and any actual expenses incurred.

• Receipt of the Application Result

  The Legal Affairs Bureau will issue notice of the examination result. In the unlikely event that the application is denied, we will assist with a reapplication at no additional professional fee or refund the professional fees paid, excluding actual expenses, in accordance with our refund policy.

• Support for Various Procedures after Naturalization

  After naturalization is approved, we will assist with procedures involving your family register, Certificate of Residence, passport, driver’s license, and other relevant matters.
