Required Documents for a Specified Skilled Worker Visa Application
A Specified Skilled Worker Visa application requires various documents relating not only to the applicant but also to the accepting company, employment conditions, and the support plan.
The required documents differ depending on whether the applicant is being invited to Japan from overseas, is currently residing in Japan and changing to Specified Skilled Worker status, or is applying to extend their current Specified Skilled Worker status.

Certificate of Eligibility Application (For Inviting a Foreign National from Overseas)

- Certificate of Payment of Labor Insurance Premiums and Related Charges (certifying that there are no outstanding payments)
- Social Insurance Premium Payment Status Report, or copies of receipts for health insurance and employees’ pension insurance premiums for the most recent 24 months
- Tax Payment Certificate (Form No. 3)

- Documents Certifying That the Accepting Company Meets the Requirements of the Relevant Sector
- Documents Relating to Membership in or Procedures Required by the Relevant Industry Council (if applicable)
- Other Documents Required According to the Applicable Industry Sector
* The documents required for the applicable industry sector vary depending on the Specified Skilled Worker field in which the foreign national will be employed, such as nursing care, construction, agriculture, or food service. In addition, some examination-related documents may not be required depending on the applicant’s background, such as when transitioning from Technical Intern Training to Specified Skilled Worker status.
